The mission of Karin's Horse Connection and Legacy Stables is to share our passion for horses and enable anyone who seeks to experience the joy of the human-horse connection. Owned and operated by Wendelin and Karin Schmidt, the facility is located on 28 beautiful acres just 15 minutes from downtown Grand Rapids. We offer horse lovers a full range of equestrian activities in a safe, relaxing and family friendly environment. While we cater to new and inexperienced riders, we serve all ages, skill levels and disciplines. Our highly qualified staff works with over 20 well-trained, gentle horses to provide a wide variety of riding programs, equestrian vaulting and therapeutic riding.

Horse Back Riding for Girl Scout Troops
Girl Scouts will learn horse psychology, how to behave around a horse, safety, proper apparel, grooming, feeding, how to lead a horse, stable management and a riding lesson. We also have some in-saddle and out-of-saddle horse games included such as ‘horse soccer’ or a jumping contest with our miniature pony, Peanut!
Time: 2 hours
Cost: Cost: $25 per participant. Troops more than 12 are $20 per participant
Additional details: Troop leaders/parents will be required to sign a waiver for any person participating. Junior Girl Scouts will satisfy their requirements for the Junior Horseback Riding badge – leaders are responsible for badge purchase.
