Every Dress Has a Story! November 2-14, 2015
Take a peek at our short video about the campaign:
It’s that time of year again!
Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore and Goodwill Industries are partnering for the third annual Every Dress Has a Story campaign. From November 2 until November 14 Goodwill of Greater Grand Rapids, Goodwill of West Michigan, and Goodwill Northern Michigan will all be accepting dresses. Huntington Bank locations are also a drop-off site this year!
Donating your dress to the Every Dress Has a Story campaign not only helps clean out your closet, it helps gives back to the community. Each dress will be added to Goodwill’s inventory and resold to inspire new memories for someone else. Our goal is to collect 10,000 dresses!
Want to help us reach that goal?
Gather any dresses (sundress, cocktail, maxi, etc.) from your closet that you'd like to donate to Goodwill on behalf of "Every Dress Has a Story."
Bring your dresses to the Huntington Bank locations listed below or Goodwill Greater Grand Rapids, West Michigan or Northern Michigan store from November 2 - 14.
Finally, get social! Share the "Every Dress Has a Story" initiative with all of your social networks. Just post your commitment to the campaign with hashtag #EveryDress and showcase a photo of a dress you are donating and the story behind it (Examples: "Rocked the room at my 25th high school reunion in this tangerine number" or "Always felt like a ballerina in this"). Then, encourage your connections to join you in donating their gently used dresses at Goodwill Stores.
You can also download the Every Dress Has a Story profile picture to use on your Facebook page to further raise awareness for the campaign.

Girls and Leaders
Fun. Fashion. Civic Engagement. Eco-consciousness....all wrapped into one great Dress Drive badge for your Girl Scouts!
It's all part of the third annual "fashion-forward" program called Every Dress Has a Story! - and the Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore is teaming up with Goodwill Industries to make it possible.
Beginning November 2 and running through November 14, Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore is asking all of its troops to participate in the Every Dress Has a Story! dress drive by having Girls Scouts reach out to family, friends, teachers, faith leaders, neighbors, etc. to collect all types of dresses that can be donated to Goodwill. From sundresses to homecoming dresses - those formal and informal dresses hiding in the closet are ready to make new memories for others!
When all donations have been collected, bring the dresses to ANY Goodwill Store or Huntington Bank Location where the dresses will be sorted and sold between November 2 - 14. Be sure to let them know it's for the Every Dress campaign when you do so.
Remember your patch! Troop leaders should email MarCom@gsmists.org by November 15th with the number of patches needed for their troop members.
Get social! Share the Every Dress Has a Story initiative with your social networks. Just post your commitment to the campaign with #EveryDress and showcase a photo of yourself with a dress you are donating and the story behind it. Then, encourage your connections to join you in donating their gently used dresses at Goodwill Stores.
