Adult Education Opportunities
Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore is committed to upholding the policy of GSUSA that all troops and pathways have trained leaders to ensure high-quality programming and safety. Because resources and opportunities change as girls progress to new program levels, training for leaders occurs at those times as well. The busy lives of our volunteers are recognized and respected and thus time and resources required for training is kept to a minimum.
Education and Training is not only a necessary step in your volunteer experience, it is a great way to meet others, gather new ideas and learn more about the Girl Scout process and what we have to offer. There are many opportunities throughout the year for adults to be educated or to brush up on various skills such as First Aid/CPR or Outdoor Training.

The GSMISTS Lending Library has many items and resources available for check out for a small deposit. Certain items may only be available at certain Council Service Centers, so please consult the shop department at your local Service Center.
Lending Library items include:
- Activity and song books
- Handbooks & Badge Books for all age levels
- Camping and outdoor equipment
- Publications, and other media
- Bridges
- Costumes
- Flags
- Program Kits on a variety of subjects
- Miscellaneous
How to check out items:
Please contact the appropriate Service Center. Check out length and deposit amounts vary depending on item. Deposits are required on all items and will only be refunded if item is returned on time.
