Collaborative Camps

To help provide even more camping opportunities for Girl Scouts, we have partnered with camps who can provide extra programming.

Greilick Outdoor Recreation & Education Center

In 1923, the Rotary Club of Traverse City raised enough money to purchase a place where the children and youth of our community could enjoy healthy outdoor recreation and learn about woodlore. For more than 90 years, young people have been able to explore and discover what the forests, hills, and lakes of Northwest Michigan has to offer.  In the very beginning, the property was used jointly by 4-H, Girl Scouts, and Boy Scouts.  In 2017 Greilick Outdoor Recreation & Education center is circling back to those original intentions.  Welcome to the new Greilick.

  GOREC Website

Just minutes from Traverse City, Greilick Outdoor Recreation & Education Center has over 500 acres of beautiful terrain nestled between three crystal-clear, jewel-like lakes (Spider, Bass and Rennie Lakes). The Grand Traverse region is an area unmatched in its diverse landscape, and alive with special events in every season of the year. Enjoy skiing, boating, major sporting events, or the solitude of the lakes and rivers. The sandy-bottomed forestland provides a great foundation for the pathways through the forests of mixed oak, maple and pine.

Greilick’s rustic yet approximately modern facilities will peak the nostalgia of seasoned campers while opening a gateway to the outdoors for new adventurists.  Walk the countless trails worn by the countless campers that have gone before you past a campfire site, down by the lake, and into the woods.
