What are Community Camp Weekends?

Community Camp Weekends are opportunities for Girl Scout troops and Juliettes to come together and share a weekend of sisterhood, camp activities, and relax in the outdoors with fellow GSMISTS members.

No two community camp weekends will be the same – activities are all based on what troops bring to share! Participating troops and cabins will be tasked with planning an activity for fellow campers to enjoy during the weekend.

Brinkert’s cabin will be designated for Juliette Girl Scouts attending with a registered adult/ parent/guardian. All registrations will be on a first come, first serve basis.

*This is not a drop-off program. Troops must attend with Troop Leaders/approved volunteers. Juliettes may register with a GS member, background checked parent/guardian.*

Who can attend Community Camp Weekends?

Girl Scout troops and Juliettes of all ages are invited to attend. The September Community Camp Weekend is focused for Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador Girl Scouts.

Where do we camp during Community Camp Weekends?

Registrants are responsible for selecting their cabin(s) when signing up for Community Camp Weekend. All cabins are first come, first serve. Please keep in mind some cabins are more rustic than others, and may not be suitable for first-time campers or younger Girl Scouts. Small troops occupying 50% or less of the cabin may opt to share their cabin with another troop.

What is provided at Community Camp Weekends?

Attending troops are tasked to come with an activity to share with the rest of camp. GSMISTS will allot money to reimburse troops for program supplies once final particpant numbers are determined.

No cafeteria service will be provided. Troops are responsible for planning and bringing their own meals. Campfire cooking equipment will be available for three season cabins; troops selecting these cabins must have a camp trained adult. Brinkert's Troop House kitchen will be used by Juliette campers and their accompanying adults.
