Event Description
Join us at a nature preserve and learn from local forestry experts and naturalists about the importance of trees and more! You will be planting HUNDREDS of seedlings of various native varietals and helping Girl Scouts keep our Tree Promise. You'll take home your own White Pine sapling to plant where you live!
Event Supervision
This is not a drop off event. Troops must come in proper girl
to adult ratio. See Safety Activity Checkpoints for more information.
Girl Scouts attending individually must be accompanied by a
parent/guardian.
The adult(s) that are accompanying Girl
Scout(s) at this event are required to register for event.
Price
$5/ Girl and $0/Adult
Food
After the job is finished, troops are encouraged to picnic at
the nature preserve. So bring your picnic baskets and blankets and
enjoy the beauty of nature while you lunch!
Supplies
Bring round point digging shovels and work gloves. We're going to
get dirty so where coveralls, overalls, or jeans and
boots/closed-toed
sturdy shoes. Remember to dress in upper
layers in case of Michigan cool spring weather. Bring water bottles to
stay hydrated.
Registration, Cancellation,
Refund, Transfer Info
Troops are encouraged to register for this event together
through the Troop Leader's MYGS account. This will help to ensure
troop participates together.
Girl Scouts not registering as a
troop or who are attending individually should register for this event
through their parent/guardian's MYGS account.
Event
confirmation/information such as zoom links and venue location are
e-mailed days prior to the event.
Events are first come first serve and are open until the
registration deadline or the event fills. GSMISTS is
unable to maintain waiting lists.
Event registrations are
non-refundable. In the event a girl/adult can no longer attend the
program, spaces may be swapped to another attendee. Contact
