Event Description
Girls will use the Engineering Design Process to understand a real-world issues, create a three seperate STEAM design builds around each topic, and will have the opportunity to show off their go-getter ingenuity to their fellow Girl Scouts. Girls are encouraged to wear their sash/vest.
With participation in this Journey workshop, girls complete the entire Journey except for the Take Action Project which must come from the girls' vision and be implemented in their community per GSUSA requirements. The Take Action Project will need to be completed as a Girl Scout troop or as an individual.
Per GSUSA guidelines when conducting a Think Like an Engineer Journey Workshop for multi-level Daisy, Brownie, and Junior, we will be utilizing the Brownie level requirements of Pop Flying Rockets Design Challenge, Helping Hand Design Challenge, Water Pipeline Design Challenge and all girls will be earning the TLE Journey Award for their respective Girl Scout level.
COST INCLUDES: Three separate STEAM challenges, all needed supplies & materials, healthy snack & beverage, the Journey Award, exclusive Challenge Island patch ... AND lots of fun!
Event Supervision
This is not a drop off event. Troops must come in proper
girl to adult ratio. See Safety Activity Checkpoints for more
information. Girl Scouts attending individually must be accompanied by
a parent/guardian.
The adult(s) that are accompanying
