What you need to know about gsEvents

Registration

Registration or ticket purchasing for many GSMISTS events are through a third-party program partner. When this is the case, you will be re-directed to the third-party program partner to register directly or purchase tickets through them.

Additionally, GSMISTS is continuing to use JotForm for registration for select events.

When this message pops up click the “Continue” button to be re-directed to the third-party program partner or JotForm registration.

If you are not re-directed to a third-party program partner or JotForm registration you will register for the event through gsEvents.

for our Event Registration Through gsEvents How-to Guide.

Registration for events is open for both troops and individual Girl Scouts.

Troops registering as a group must meet proper Girl Scout to adult ratios.

Girl Scouts attending individually must be accompanied by an adult unless otherwise stated.

If an adult, volunteer, parent is attending the event; they must register whether or not an adult fee is charged. Fees for girls and adults are listed in the event description on our Event Calendar.

Registering for Events in Other Councils Through gsEvents

When you search in gsEvents if the zip code you use to search for an event is within ninety miles of another council there is the possibility events that come up in your search are hosted by another council (Example: Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan). GSMISTS can help you register for another council’s event, but we have no additional information about the event (confirmation, refund/cancellation policies, issues with payments, etc.). You will need to contact the hosting council for any additional information.

Fees and Payments

Payment is due upon registration. gsEvents accepts credit and debit cards as payment. No spots will be held for girls, troops, or adults without payment.

To Use Cookie Dough or Individual Girl Funds for Payment:
Please contact Girl Experience at girlexperience@gsmists.org or 616-888-3830. Event registration is not complete or guaranteed until Cookie Dough or Individual Girl Funds are applied. Cookie Dough or Individual Girl Funds are non-transferable to other girls or adults. Only GSMISTS Cookie Dough or Individual Girl Funds are accepted for GSMISTS events.

Cancellations/Refunds

If an event is cancelled by GSMISTS a 100% refund will be issued.
GSMISTS offers refunds on a case-by-case basis. Contact girlexperience@gsmists.org.

If a Girl Scout or adult who is registered cannot attend, troops are allowed to transfer the registration to another Girl Scout or adult for the same event. Contact girlexperience@gsmists.org.

Confirmations

After you submit payment for an event you will receive a payment confirmation receipt email from gsEvents, along with the exact street address for the event.

You will also receive a detailed confirmation email from GSMISTS closer to the date of the event. If a troop leader registered Girl Scouts in her troop, the troop leader receives the confirmation email. If a parent/caregiver registers a Girl Scout, they will receive the confirmation email. The email will contain information and instructions for the event. If you do not receive a confirmation email for the event or do not see it in your MY GS, please contact Customer Care at customercare@gsmists.org or 616-784-3341.

Once you have registered and paid for an event(s), you may view all upcoming and past events in your MY GS account. Go to https://www.gsmists.org/ and log into your MY GS account. On the left side of the screen click “My Events.” Here you can view upcoming events or past events.

Please Note: Events registered for through Third-Party Program Partners and JotForm will not be included on the “My Events” screen. If you registered through a third-party program partner confirmations will come from them not GSMISTS.

Event Closing Dates

Every event has a closing date. The event will close on this date or when the maximum number of attendees has been reached for the event.

General Information

Troops are responsible for collecting permission slips and meeting the Girl Scout to adult ratio.

Girl Scouts attending individually must attend with an adult, unless otherwise stated.

If you are attending a family event and a sibling or friend will be participating in the event, that person must be registered to attend the event.

Girl Scouts are encouraged to wear their vest, sash or tunic to the event. We encourage Girl Scouts to wear their uniform components proudly.

A tag-along is any child that does not meet the gender or grade level requirements for the event (siblings, friends, etc.) Tag-alongs detract from the needs and interests of Girl Scouts participating in the event; therefore, tag-alongs are not permitted to attend the events unless the event is designated as a family event and open to all family members.

Participants attending the event with special dietary or allergies must be sure to complete the registration information pertaining to this. Please contact girlexperience@gsmists.org to notify us of any circumstances prior to the event.
