Calling experienced troop campers!

With support of GSMISTS, troop leaders and volunteers will put "community" in Community Camp Weekend. An adult volunteer from each troop will bring the fun of camp by leading 1 activity of their choice for Girl Scouts.

After registration, GSMISTS program staff will host a pre-camp meeting to review camp details and collaborate with volunteers to coordinate activities.

Activities previously offered but are not limited to:

  • Small Craft- certification or equivalent experience required.
  • Archery- certification or equivalent experience required
  • Tie-Dye
  • Scavenger Hunt
  • Rock painting
  • String Art

Please note the additional adults you need to run the activity of your choosing.

Adults leading activities will not remain with their troop during activity rotations.  Girl Scouts must be in the appropriate girl: adult ratio during the rotation of Saturday activities.

What to expect:

Troops will check in on Friday evening, followed by introductions and an evening camp activity.

On Friday evening or Saturday morning, adult volunteers will prepare their activity stations.

Saturday will begin with the morning flag ceremony, introductions, and activity rotations throughout the morning and afternoon.

Event Supervision:

This is NOT a drop off event. Troops must come in proper girl to adult ratio. Girl Scouts attending individually must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. See Safety Activity Checkpoints for more information.

  • Camp Anna Behrens is a rustic campground. Many cabin options do NOT have indoor plumbing - please remember you and your Girl Scouts may need to make short trips to the bath house and rely on flashlights at night!
  • Cabin accommodations are a maximum of 12-24 participants. Small troops may be paired with other troops in the same unit. We encourage Troop participation with applicable adult: girl ratio. This provides more opportunities for Girl Scouts to participate in camping.
