Event Description:
Join Program staff from the Outdoor Discovery Center to learn how to
harvest sweet maple syrup. Girl Scouts will journey down a trail in
the sugar bush to help tap a tree, gather sap, then watch the
evaporator make syrup at the historic Van Raalte Farm. Girl Scouts
will earn a unique fun patch for this program.
Badge:
Cadettes, you can partially earn your Trees badge by attending this
program. Step 1 out of 5 steps will be completed: Take a tree trip.
Visit a sugarhouse to learn how maples are tapped for maple syrup.
This is NOT a drop off event. Troops must come in proper girl to adult ratio. See Safety Activity Checkpoints for more information. Girl Scouts attending individually must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

Event registrations are non-refundable. In the event a girl/adult can no longer attend the program, spaces may be swapped to another attendee.
Events are first come first serve and are open until the registration deadline or the event fills. GSMISTS is unable to maintain waiting lists.
If this event is cancelled by GSMISTS a 100% refund will be issued.
Troops are encouraged to register for this event together through the Troop Leader's MYGS account.
Girl Scouts not registering as a troop or who are attending individually should register for this event through their parent/guardian's MYGS account.
