Morning Session runs from 9:00AM-1:15 PM.

Event Description:

Join GSMISTS for a fun-filled day at camp to get creative, get outdoors, and enjoy the outdoors!

GSMISTS's August Camporee is offered between two sessions. Both events provide the same experience, just at a different time.

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to make this camporee amazing for our Girl Scouts.

What does the day look like?

After check-in and announcements, camporee activities are offered in an open house style. Participants are not limited to a strict rotation of activities - choose the stations that speak to you! Girl Scouts can explore activities at their own pace, and stay at stations for as little or as much as they like, taking turns with other girls where applicable (i.e. boating and archery)

What activities are offered?

Girl Scouts can enjoy a variety of hands-on activities including but not limited to:

  • Archery - take aim and create your own archery themed craft
  • Slingshots - fire away with paintballs!
  • Friendship bracelets - create colorful beaded friendship bracelets to share with fellow Girl Scouts.
  • Boondoggles - make a camp craft favorite! Craft a keychain with colorful plastic laces while learning simple knotting techniques
  • Canoeing or Kayaking - make a splash and enjoy the shores of Lake Lester.

Plus, the GSMISTS shop will be on-site! Find some new swag and show off your Girl Scout spirit.

Stormy or rainy weather may influence our capacity to offer small craft boating or archery. Alternate activities will be offered should weather impact activities.

Who can attend?

Girl Scouts of all ages! Keep in mind, Safety Activity Checkpoints specify some activity restrictions for Girl Scout Daisies:

  • Daisies are only permitted to canoe, with an adult paddling in the same boat. Kayaking is for Brownies+
  • Archery is permitted for Brownies+, in lieu of this activity Daisies can enjoy slingshots.

Event Supervision:

This is NOT a drop off event. Troops must come in proper girl to adult ratio. Girl Scouts attending individually must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. See Safety Activity Checkpoints for more information.  If you are an event volunteer, you would not count toward the adult/girl ratio with your troop. Please make sure to have the appropriate adult supervision for the Girl Scouts attending.
