Event Description

Join Dune Harbor Park staff to dive into the fieldwork of maintaining your local parks while also completing steps towards your Environmental Stewardship badges:

*Talk to experts about what they do to protect the local ecosystem.
*Remove the invasive mustered flower and discover how they harm Michigan ecosystems.
*Beautify the park by spreading native flower seeds and make seeds balls to continue the conservation of the park.
*Park staff will further dive into how their continued work includes the conservation of water and the links between the health of the ecosystem and people.
*Use magnifying glasses to investigate native and invasive species at the park

 

Girl Scout registration includes badge, snack and magnifying glass.

Tagalong registration includes snack and magnifying glass.

 

Event Supervision

This is NOT a drop off event. Troops must come in proper girl to adult ratio

Please do not register more adults than necessary.

Registrations exceeding the adult-to-Girl Scout ratio may be subject to cancellation based on venue capacity restrictions.

Individually Registered Girl Scouts must attend with a chaperoning  parent/guardian.

Badge: Badges are included with registration, please select the badge of your choice at registration. Badges will be shipped after the event.

Senior - Eco Explorer Badge

Ambassador - Eco Advocate Badge


*5th graders bridging to Cadettes may select the Eco-Trekker badge
*8th graders bridging to Seniors may select the Eco- Explorer badge
*10th graders bridging to Ambassadors may select the Eco- Advocate badge

 

Food: Granola Bars, Gatorade, and fruit

 

Supplies: Here's what to bring: hat, sunscreen, bug spray, close-toe shoes, water bottle

Please note that this event is subject to cancellation if the minimum registration requirement is not met. 

If this event is cancelled by GSMISTS a 100% refund will be issued

Event registrations are non-refundable. In the event a girl/adult can no longer attend the program, spaces may be swapped to another attendee.

Events are first come first serve and are open until the registration deadline or the event fills. GSMISTS is unable to maintain waiting lists.
